Key-Tech Achieves JOSCAR Registration and Joins ADS Group

Key-Tech Electronic Systems has achieved JOSCAR registration through Hellios Information and become an official member of ADS Group. These milestones strengthen our position as a trusted defence electronics manufacturer in the UK. They also mark an important step forward in our commitment to supply chain excellence across the aerospace and defence sectors.

For over 30 years, we have been delivering high-quality contract electronics manufacturing services from our facility in Kirkcaldy, Fife. However, as the defence and aerospace supply chain evolves, so too must the way manufacturers demonstrate their credentials. That is exactly what this announcement is about.

What is JOSCAR registration and why does it matter?

JOSCAR (the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register) is a collaborative accreditation system used across the UK defence, aerospace and security industries. It is administered by Hellios Information. In practice, it acts as a centralised register where supplier qualification and compliance data is independently collected and validated. This information is then made accessible to participating buying organisations. You can find out more about the register on the official JOSCAR page.

In practical terms, achieving JOSCAR registration means that major defence and aerospace prime contractors can now view our compliance credentials in one place. Rather than going through repeated, individual qualification processes with each organisation, our information is assessed once. After that, it is shared securely with all participating buyers.

The registration process covers a wide range of compliance areas, including:

  • Financial stability
  • Quality management systems
  • Cyber security and data protection
  • Health and safety
  • Environmental management
  • Business continuity
  • Ethical conduct

JOSCAR registration is widely recognised across the defence and aerospace supply chain and is often a prerequisite for working with major prime contractors. By completing our registration, Key-Tech has demonstrated that we meet the rigorous standards expected by some of the most demanding procurement organisations in the country.

What does ADS Group membership mean for Key-Tech?

Alongside our JOSCAR registration, we have also become official members of ADS Group, the UK’s premier trade association for the aerospace, defence, security and space industries. ADS represents over 1,700 member companies. Furthermore, it plays a central role in supporting supply chain development, representing UK industry and connecting businesses with opportunities across these critical sectors.

For Key-Tech, ADS Group membership provides direct access to industry intelligence, policy developments, networking events and supply chain programmes. It also connects us with a community of like-minded businesses that share a commitment to UK manufacturing excellence.

As a contract electronics manufacturer serving sectors where compliance and traceability are non-negotiable, being part of ADS Group ensures we stay connected to the developments and opportunities that matter most to our customers.

Why has Key-Tech pursued JOSCAR registration now?

The defence and aerospace landscape is changing. Supply chain integrity, compliance rigour and pre-qualification transparency have never been more important. Organisations across these sectors need confidence that their manufacturing partners can evidence their credentials clearly and consistently.

We have always held ourselves to high standards. Our ISO 13485 certification, IPC workmanship standards and long track record across healthcare, defence, rail, subsea, marine and oil and gas demonstrate that. However, JOSCAR registration and ADS Group membership take that a step further. They do this by making our credentials visible and verifiable through independently recognised frameworks.

In short, it makes it easier for defence and aerospace organisations to find us, assess us and work with us. It removes friction and builds confidence from the very start of a conversation.

What does this mean for our customers and partners?

For our existing customers, our JOSCAR registration and ADS Group membership reinforce what they already know: that Key-Tech takes quality, compliance and continuous improvement seriously. We are actively investing in the frameworks and accreditations that keep us aligned with industry expectations.

For prospective customers, particularly those in defence and aerospace, these credentials offer an efficient way to assess our suitability as a manufacturing partner. Our compliance information is now available to all participating JOSCAR buying organisations. As a result, this reduces duplication and makes it simpler and faster to engage with us.

We are a business built on relationships and trust. Our JOSCAR registration simply makes it easier to demonstrate that trust from the outset.
